This Privacy Policy explains how KrakowMap processes personal data in connection with the interactive map, user-submitted links and event pins, moderation, optional advertising, and browser storage used by the service.

2) When we may process data
We may process data when you:
- visit KrakowMap and browse the website or the map,
- open a pin, like it, report it, share it, or use filtering and search features,
- submit a public social link or public Facebook event link pinned to a place,
- contact us by email,
- consent to, reject, or manage optional cookies and advertising technologies,
- interact with embedded or linked third-party content such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook.
3) Categories of data we may process
Depending on the context, we may process:
- technical and log data such as IP address, approximate location derived from it, timestamps, browser type, device type, and user agent,
- usage data such as viewed pages, map interactions, searches, likes, reports, and other activity within the service,
- browser storage and preference data, for example consent choices, theme preference, remembered likes, or draft/pending submission state stored on your device,
- submission data provided by users, such as public post URLs, coordinates, titles, descriptions, event date/time, and related moderation metadata,
- contact data and message content if you write to us,
- data generated by security, anti-abuse, and moderation processes.
4) Purposes and legal bases (GDPR)
We process personal data for the following purposes:
- operating, securing, and maintaining KrakowMap (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interests),
- providing the service, including map browsing, pin pages, event pins, and user submissions (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — performance of a service),
- reviewing submissions, preventing abuse, and enforcing moderation decisions (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interests),
- responding to inquiries and support requests (Art. 6(1)(b) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR),
- storing or honoring cookie and advertising consent choices (Art. 6(1)(c) or Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, depending on context),
- analytics or advertising activities, where enabled and legally based on consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
5) External services, embeds, and recipients
KrakowMap may rely on external providers such as hosting providers, map or geolocation services, security tools, analytics services, and advertising partners. We may also display or link to third-party content from platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook.
When you open or interact with third-party content, those providers may process data under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control those third-party practices.
6) Cookies, local storage, and advertising
KrakowMap uses necessary cookies and browser storage to run the service, remember preferences, and support security-related functionality. Optional analytics and advertising technologies are used only where enabled and, if required by law, only after valid consent.

7) Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, for moderation and abuse-prevention needs, or as required by applicable law. User-submitted content may remain publicly visible until it is removed, rejected, hidden, or deleted.

- request rectification or deletion,
- request restriction of processing or object to processing,
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent,
